Westchester NOW PAC Update
Jon Wegienek Westchester NOW PAC congratulates long-time NOW member Amy Paulin on her successful bid for the 88th Assembly District seat left vacant by the venerable Audrey Hochberg, who decided to retire. A tireless advocate for women and children for many years, Amy is well known on the political scene here in Westchester for her energy and sheer tenacity. We can't think of a more able person to fill the very large void left by Assemblywoman Hochberg. Good luck, Amy! Other winners the PAC endorsed included Ruth Hassell-Thompson (33rd S.D.), Nicholas Spano (35th S.D.), Suzi Oppenheimer (36th S.D.), James Gary Pretlow (84th A.D.), Richard Brodsky (86th A.D.), Michael Spano (87th A.D.), Naomi Matusow (89th A.D.), and Sandra Galef (90th A.D.). Unfortunately, challenger Lorraine Coyle Koppell, whom the PAC endorsed, lost her bid to unseat incumbent Guy Velella in the 34th S.D. We applaud the courage and hard work she displayed in attempting to win this seat. Finally, special congratulations go to Ruth Hassell-Thompson, who goes to the Senate from the Mount Vernon City Council. We are confident she will represent her district well. All the best, Ruth! ¨
