Long Time NOW Member to Host Evening of Art

NOW members are invited to a special evening with the artist, Hilda Green Demsky, at a private showing of her solo exhibition, "Uncharted Spaces" at the Mamaroneck Artists Guild Gallery in Larchmont on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m. A reception will precede a guided tour of the paintings and a dialogue with the audience on "Artists and their Subjects and Viewers Interpretations."

The Fulbright award-winning artist will describe how experiences in the New York art world led her to feminism and a study of women artists and other women of achievement. These interests were a catalyst for a Christa McAuliffe Fellowship (U.S. Dept. of Education Award in memory of the deceased astronaut) and a year's research on contemporary women artists. The Fellowship and subsequent visit to NASA inspired her current show's subject matter of outer space.
