The National Association of Social Workers, Westchester Chapter Committee on Women will present a program, AIDS: A WOMEN'S ISSUE on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Michaelian Institute of Pace University, One Martine Avenue, White Plains.
Keynote Speaker, feminist Amber Hollibough, former administrator of the Gay Men's Health Crisis Collective, will describe the intense and long-lasting effect of the AIDS epidemic on women with AIDS, their children, and their families. A Panel of women with AIDS will speak of their own struggle against the disease. Attendees also will have the opportunity to see The Stitches Project, a collection of dolls that women have dressed and written about to illustrate the course of the disease in their lives.
NOW Westchester member Susan Turner will start out the evening with a knowledge survey, a list of 10 questions about AIDS to find out and correct what attendees actually know about AIDS.
