Hilda Green Demsky has been awarded a Strategic Opportunity Stipend to give a presentation about her art at The United States Fulbright Association’s Conference in Morocco and to pursue a project drawing the gates in the medieval walls of Marrakech, Fez and Rabat-the three imperial cities. The award is supported in part with funds from The New York Foundation for the Arts and New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Garrison Art Center in Mid Hudson. Ms Demsky, a resident of Larchmont, N.Y. is the founding Chairperson of the Fulbright Arts Task Force. She had her Fulbright Fellowship in 1992 in The Netherlands
This past summer Ms. Demsky was awarded two artist fellowships, one to the Mary Anderson Center for the Arts in Indiana where she was the first recipient of the Henry Faurest Fellowship and the second residency at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. These enabled her to produce a large body of new paintings on the theme of rivers and flowing water. Ms. Demsky’s next solo exhibition will be May 15 at Pleiades Gallery, 530 W. 25th St in New York City. Visits to her studio in Port Chester are available by calling 914 318 4443 for an appointment.
